Jamaica’s pools never close for winter, and the owners paying for them are often somewhere else. Service records with photos, sent after every visit, are how a small operator earns the villa contracts. Prices in J$.
The best pool accounts in Jamaica are rental villas and small hotels on the north coast, and their owners are rarely on the island. What they buy is confidence: a record after each visit with the readings, a short note and a photo of clear water. PoolPros produces that record as a by-product of tapping "done", and emails it to the owner and the property manager.
Residential pools in Kingston, Mandeville and the hills run the same way on a lighter cadence, in the same diary, on the same optimised route.
There is no off-season, but December to April fills every villa, and hurricane season from June to November means storm clean-ups and green-pool recoveries land on top of the round. A schedule that reshuffles a week in a few taps, and recurring visits that put themselves back on the calendar, is what keeps a two-person operation sane.
Card payments through the app are not available in Jamaica yet — Stripe does not currently serve Jamaican businesses — so you record cash, bank transfers and mobile-money payments with Mark paid, and the balances and reports work exactly the same. Texting is not available yet either; appointment and payment reminders go out by email on every plan.
Up to 15 customers, PoolPros is free with no time limit, which covers a part-time round entirely. Past that it is a flat $47 a month, billed in US dollars while your customer amounts stay in J$.
Villas, guest houses and small hotels along the north coast — Montego Bay, Ocho Rios, Negril, Runaway Bay — plus residential pools in the Kingston hills and Mandeville. The season is year-round: no winter shutdown, just a heavier load through the tourist high season from December to April.
Not yet. Stripe, which powers in-app card payments, does not currently onboard businesses in Jamaica, so payment links and saved cards are switched off for Jamaican accounts. Record cash, bank transfers and mobile-money payments on the customer card with Mark paid; balances and reports work the same.
Every visit produces a service record with the readings, a note and photos, and the owner receives it by email. For an owner in Toronto or London whose villa is managed from Jamaica, that record is the proof they are paying for.
Texting is not available in Jamaica yet, so reminders go out by email — included on every plan, sent from the address on each customer record, with a one-click unsubscribe.
